About A.J. Casson
Alfred Joseph "A.Y." Casson (1898 - 1992) was a member of the Group of Seven Canadian landscape artists. He was invited to join the Group in 1926, after the resignation in 1921 of Frank Johnston. Casson's painting style combines clear colors and background designs and is best known for his depictions of landscapes, forests and farms of southern Ontario. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
