boards for 2/10/0 and gave note for 0/18/5. Paid 1/2/0 in cash, delivered
boards for 2/10/0 and gave note for 0/18/5 Had a joint account also with
Moses DRISKELL, Sr. and Moses Jr. The partnership bought sundries for
37/9/11 in 1786 and gave their joint bond for that amount
DRISKELL, Adam (6 Aug 1783 to 1784)
Bought a fine mens hat for 2/5/0. Was entitled to a 5 shilling credit if
paid by Christmas, failed to pay and gave note for the total in 1784.
DRISKELL, Elgate (2 Feb 1767 to 3 Feb 1770)
Bought rum, shoe buckles, felt hat, linen and thread for 0/17/1. Paid in
corn, cash and flax in 1769 and 1770 0/16/4. Carried one shilling to Ledger

Bought clothing items and accessories and gave credits to John NOBLE and
Ready PORTER for a total of 2/3/9 1/2. Paid in cash 1/10/0 and got credit of
0/13/10 for a "Vige to Norfolk" in 1768, probably as a hand on Nelm's
schooner.
DRISKELL, John (10 Mar 1775 to 5 Jun 1787)
Bought a gallon of rum delivered by his father in 1775 for 0/6/0. Paid by a
buckskin in 1776 for a credit of 0/7/6. In 1783, bought a pair of shoe
buckles and 2 quarts of brandy. In 1786, a frying pan, a case of knives and
forks, a doz. pewter plates, 2 tin pans, molasses and rum. Driskell was to
trade wheat, rye, and beeswax for these items but only delivered 2 lbs of
beeswax and paid one shilling. Gave a note for the balance due of 3/19/6 in
1787.
