AARON MILLS was born 12-22-1749. He died 15-12-1794 in Jefferson County Tenn. He married Charity MENDENHALL, granddaughter of John & Susan PEARSON Mendenhall, gg dt of John & Elizabeth MARIS Mendenhall, ggg dt of George & Alice Maris from England in 1683. His father, HENRY MILLS was born on 23 day 9th month 1720 in PA.(?) He died 10th day 10th month 1810 in NC. at the age of 90 yrs. Henry was appointed Overseer 2-22-1755 by the New Garden Meeting (NC). He sat as head of the Deep River MM (NC) for many years until he became too infirm to get there. Henry was issued 55 acres of land on 12-1761 in Guilford County on West Deep River, NC. He married circa 1740 in probably Hopewell MM, VA to HANNAH THORNBURG (1725-1791) she was the dt of Walter Thornburg. Their children; Moses b. 11-4-1743; Sarah b. 8-17-1745 (m.Tarlton Johnson); Margaret b.10-27-1747; Aaron; Hannah b. 8-25-1752; Hur b. 2-24-1755; Charity b. 4-25-1758 (m. Samuel Hoggatt); Joshua; Ruth (m James Johnson); Rebecca; & Rachel.

Aaron's grandfather was JOHN MILLS, b. about 1688; died 1760 in Rowan County NC. (His death is noted in the monthly meeting records of New Garden MM, Guilford Co., NC.) His will which was probated there, made specific requests to his children Thomas, John Jr., Hur, Henry, & Mary. He was a Prince George County Maryland farmer and is described as John Mills of "Manoquisy near ye River Potamac" on his son Thomas' marriage certificate. Migrated to VA (what is now Berkeley County) then on to NC. he probably married twice and both wives were possibly named Rebecca. No surnames for either. Good Luck on your search! Hannah Michal
