He was a

blacksmith by trade and settled in the third precinct of Hadley which

was later the town of Amherst. His name occurs frequently on the

records of the town beginning with his purchase of land in 1741. March

25, 1743, the town voted "to give Aaron Worner thirty shillings to sweep

the meeting Hous and to give a Signe when to go to Meeting." Other town

records show that the customary way to give the sign in those days was

to "blow ye Kunk," and this was doubtless Aaron Warner's method. He was

on a committee to give out warrants for precinct meetings, March 19,

1745, and March 18, 1746; with his brother Moses was appointed to help

build the pound, November 3, 1746; was tithing man in 1766; recieved a

grant of land in 1770; signed a petition against the building of a

second church in 1773. His inventory was taken December 6, 1787. His

son David was administrator and sons Aaron, Noadiah and Johnathon,

deceased, are mentioned.

Married (2) ESTHER _______. In the Amherst town records of Lucy and

Hannah, they are called daughters of Aaron and Esther Warner.

Aaron Warner, Jr., bapt. Jan 10, 1748 in Hadley; Captain Aaron Warner,

Jr., d. Oct. 14, 1774, in his 27th year (tombstone in Amherst) or d. Oct.

12, 1776, aged 26 (History of Hadley); m. in Amherst, Hannah Dickinson, b. in

Amherst, Jan. 22, 1749, daughter of Gideon and Hannah (Edwards) Dickinson. His heirs

were mentioned as holders of a lot in Amherst in 1788, but no names are

known.

Lucy Warner, bapt. 1749, in Hadley; m. in Amherst, May 21, 1778, John

(or Jesse, according to Amherst town records) Emerson of Wendell. They went

to Conn., Ohio, and he died in Ohio.

Noadiah Warner, bapt. 1751, in Hadley.

David (1) Warner, bapt. May 27, 1753; d. July 18, 1753.

Hannah Warner, bapt. June 30, 1754; m. Jeremiah Cady.

David (2) Warner, bapt. Sept., 1756; m. Mrs. Lucy Orchard.

Johnathon Warner, m. Margaret Elizabeth Sewall.
