1st to Anna Maxwell (1808-1868), the daughter of William Maxwell & Jane Higginbotham, on March 4, 1834 at Elbert County, GA. At the time of Anna's death in 1868, they had at least 7 children.

2nd to Elizabeth Orr Maxwell (1826-1888) the widow of Jeremiah Maxwell and the mother of 2 daughters. They were married in 1869.

Abel Crisler died on April 23, 1881 and is buried in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Alpharetta, GA.
