Abigail Chapin

Abigail Hubbard, dau. of Lt. Col. Erastus Hubbard and Abigail Nims, was born in that part of Keene, New Hampshire then called Sullivan. She married with NATHAN.P. CHAPIN of Vermont. They resided in Guilford, Windham Co., Vermont. He was a farmer. She died Dec. 21, 1878 in Guilford; he died Jan. 14, 1890; both buried at Maplehurst Cemetery, Guilford, Windham Co., Vermont.

Children were: Aurilla (1834), Laura Ann (1835), Solomon Edward (1837), and Sarah Jane (1839).

• 1850 census: Abigail Chapin (44, b NH) and husband Nathan S. Chapin (48, b Vt); in Guilford, Vt. w ch. Aurilla (15, b Vt), Laura (15, b Vt), Solomon (13, b Vt), and Sarah (11, b Vt). Also there is husband's mother Rebecca Chapin (74, b RI).
• 1870 census: M.P. Chapin (68, b Vt), and wife Abigail (64, b NH); in Guilford, Vt w ch. Laura Ann (30, b Vt) and Sarah Jane (25, b Vt). Husband is a farmer.
• 1878 death certif: Abigail Chapin, d/o Erastus Hubbard & Abigail, born Sullivan NH; aged 73 yrs,2m, 23d; born 1805. died 12/21/1878. Paralysis.
