Biography

Abigail Dudley was born at Concord, Massachusetts on June, 11 1691, daughter of Joseph Dudley and Abigail Goble. [1] [2]

Her father Joseph Dudley intestate died at Concord in 1702, and initially her mother widow Abigail administered his estate. [3] After her mother's death in 1705, John Wheeler was appointed guardian to their daughter Abigail, 'a minor thirteen years & upward' on January 1, 1705/6, with Francis Dudley and Thomas Goble providing surety. [3] [4]

John Wheeler then administered her father Joseph's estate, he being appointed guardian to Abigail and her siblings. In the distribution, her eldest brother received a double share, and Abigail and the remaining children received L14:5: 3 1/2 each from the personal estate. [3]

In the final accounting by John Wheeler, of the settlement of her father's real estate in September, 1718, the heirs all signed acknowledgement of notice, including John Davis, husband of Abigail. [3]

She married John Davis on December 17, 1713 . [2] Her husband John, son of Dr. Simon Davis and Elizabeth Woodis, was born at Concord on November 19, 1689. [1] [5]

He was a physician and lived at Concord and Acton.

Dr. John Davis died on November 16, 1762 [1] [5] and is buried in South Burying Place, Concord, Massachusetts. His inscripton reads: Memorial of Doctor John Davis who died Nov, 16th AD 1762 in the 73d year of his age.[6]

In his will he dated September 30, 1762, he mentions:
