Born: Salicia (then Poland, now Belarus)

Per his son David’s 1920 census entry, and consistent with Heather Gold's understanding. But not clear where that was. Silesia is in Poland and (as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) was not in the Pale of Settlement as far as I know.
