<p>Abraham Colt was born on 15 July 1666 at Podunk, CT.2 He was the son of John Colt and Hester Edwards.2 Abraham Colt married Hannah Loomis, daughter of Joseph Loomis and Mary Sherwood, on 1 January 1690 at Windsor, CT.2 Abraham Coult's occupation was as a fence viewer for the Town of Glastonbury. A fence viewer was responsible for settling boundary disputes and setting standards for weights and measures. On June15, 1706, the proprietors of Glastonbury granted to Abraham Colt(1) 50 acres on which he built a house; the Abraham Coult House which has recently been added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1713, two days before his crippled son's (Abraham(2) marriage to Susannah Risley Abraham(1) deeded 1/2 part of the house and land to Abraham(2).</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>!</p></p><p><p>!Inform from Nancy Ranck, internet, 19 Dec 2002.</p></p><p><p>"Abraham Coult's occupation was as a fence viewer for the Town of Glastonbury.</p></p><p><p>A fence viewer was responsible for settling boundary disputes and setting</p></p><p><p>standards for weights and measures. In</p></p><p>1734 his 20 year old grandson, Abraham, chose him as guardian.</p>
