Abraham Guseman, son of German immigrant Abraham Guseman and Christiana, was married first to Susanna Henlock who lived only nine days after their marriage. He was married second to Catharine Barnard with whom he had 8 children: (John, Abraham Jr, Jacob, Marie, Johannes, Joseph,Isaac,and Sophia). Catharine Barnard died in 1793.

Abraham Guseman's third wife, Maria Elizabeth Ralphsnyder (and this writer's ancestors) were married on July 8, 1795 by Reverend David Young, German Lutheran Congregation and together they had 9 children (Elizabeth 1799-1876, Mary 1801-1866 (and who m. 1826 Jacob Newman 1802-1876 again, this writer's ancestors) Sarah 1803-?, Catherine 1805-?, Christiana 1807-1902, Susannah* 1809-1910, Rebecca ?-?, William David 1816-1897. Aaron Henry, 1818-?. All children survived to adulthood and were married.
