About Abraham Jones
Abraham Jones was born and reared in Wales. Crossing the Atlantic in his search for fortune, he arrived in Virgina, ca. 1817, lived there a few years and married a Powhatan Tribe member (citation needed).
They moved to Putnam County, GA, ca. 1819, where he purchased wild land in Putnam county, and on the farm which he cleared and improved both he and his wife spent the remainder of their lives.
They had at least one son, James A., born in Putnam County, ca.1820. James A. married Nancy Banks ca. 1835 in Putnam County and had at least 8 children, one of whom was Andrew Jackson Jones.
