About James A. Jones
James A. Jones, grandfather of Charles Scriven Jones, was a natural mechanic,
and as a young man learned carpentering and cabinet making, becoming well
skilled in each. For many years he followed these trades successfully, his home
being in Putnam county, about seven miles north of Eatonton, where his death
occurred while yet in the prime of life.
