It is with considerable regret we chronicle the death of Mr. Abraham Kershaw, which occurred at his residence at 6.20 on Monday evening last. As stated in our last, the cause of death was blood poisoning, caused by applying sheep dip to a scratch on his arm received about a week ago. Deceased was one of our oldest residents, being 57 years of age at the time of his demise. Hardworking and industrious, he reared 10 children, one of whom predeceased him. Fate did not prove propitious for him, and his wife and family have, unfortunately, a heavy load to bear. His funeral took place on Wednesday last and was numerously attended. Mr. Himsworth was the undertaker, and Mr. S. Groves (in the absence of Rev.T. E. Owens-Mell) read the burial service. He leaves a sorrowing wife and family to mourn their irretrievable loss.
