Millard County Progress 8/09/1935 MRS. E.A. WOOD DIES AT HOME IN HOLDEN
Mrs. Ada Ashby Wood, wife of Edward A. Wood, died at her home in Holden, Thursday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 a.m., following a lingering illness of six months. The cause of her death was heart trouble and other complications. Her passing will be mourned by the whole community, because she was loved and respected by all, and will be missed for her many good deeds of love and kindness.
Mrs. Woods was born in Salt Lake City, Nov. 9, 1870, later coming to Holden to make her home. She has been an active worker in church and civic affairs, having been President of the Holden Ward Primary for ten years, counselor in the Relief Society, member of the Genealogy Committee, teacher in the Sunday School and at one time, Secretary of the Primary.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Clayton, Hugh, June, Mrs. Lucille Burton and Mrs. Grace Jensen, all of Holden; and Wallace of Salt Lake City; by nine grandchildren and ten brothers and sisters as follows: Harden Ashby, Midvale; Robert L., American Fork; Rodney and Nathaniel of Leamington and Austin of Holden; Mrs. Nina Wood, Mrs. Emma Stephenson, Mrs. Susan Bennett, Mrs. Edith Stephenson and Mrs. Martha Stevens all of Holden.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends are invited to view the remains from 10 to 12 Saturday morning at their residence. The burial will be in charge of the Olpin Mortuary.
