Sec, House No. 5, 25 Jun 1853, “second born of Jonas Tauber, handlesmann in Sec No. 5, son of Joseph Tauber, handlesmann in Sec No. 41, Blowitz, and Katharina, dau of Marek Bermann, handlesmann, Wlci, and gattin Rosalie”. He was identical with Adolf [Adolph] Tauber who was living in Vienna in the late 1870s, and who later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1890s, Adolf of Cleveland reported a birthdate of 25 Jun 1853 -- a perfect match to the birthdate of Elkan Tauber in Sec Jewish records.

According to Vienna records, Adolf Tauber “of Setsch, Bohmen” [Sec, Bohemia] was m. to Johanna Kraus. Naturalization records in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio indicate the following: “Adolph Tauber, b. City of Pilsen, 25 Jun 1853, arrived in the United States on 6 Jun 1889, an agent residing at 14 Petrie St.

He d. in Cleveland on 14 Jun 1929, age nearly 76 years. His wife, Johanna [%E2%80%9CJennie%E2%80%9D] Kraus, whom he married in Blowitz, 1875, was b. in Bohemia, 25 Feb 1850, the dau of Joseph and Mattie (Kaufman) Kraus. She died in Cleveland on 26 Jul 1930, age 80 years.
