(“Albert Wirz Killed”, Seymour Baylor County Banner, Seymour, Texas, P?, 15 Nov 1912, newspaperarchive.com, 18 Jul 2018):
A gloom of sorrow was cast over the town last Friday morning by the news that Albert Wirz had been killed. He was at work the evening before on the Throckmorton school building. Hands were scarce and he was helping put on the cornice, working ona swinging scaffold. In some way the scaffold slipped and Mr. Wirz fell 35 feet to the ground. A number of bones were broken and internal injuries received. The accident happened about four o’clock, and he was never again conscious, dying next morning at two o’clock.
The body was brought here for interment. It was accompanied from Throckmorton by S.F. Knox, secretary of the school board, J.D. Falls, member of school board and sheriff, John Craig architect, Doss Thorp and Carl Huff, carpenters. Funeral services were conducted at the Resbyterian church by Rev. S. D. Waldrop, at 2:00. A number of business houses closed from two till three in honor of the deceased. A suitable obituary will appear in the Banner next week.

Mrs. Mary Haller Wirz was born October 13th 1830 at Kanton Argon Switzerland. She was reared up under Christina influences and early became a member of the Lutheran church. She proved herself to be a Christina in word and deed throughout her long life.
At the age of 28 she was married to David Wirz and 8 children blessed this happy union. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1881, after three years they moved to Baylor County where Grandmother Wirz has resided ever since.
Although she never learned to speak the English language she won many friends by her enviable character. Being a pioneer of this county her life was an untiring effort to help others less fortunate to bear the natural hardships. Five children and many grandchildren mourn for the death of this loved one. The children are Mrs. Fred Krauss of Kaufman, Texas, Mrs. Alex Ferrier, Adolph Wirz and Miss Lena Wirz of this city, and Sam Wirz of Cuba, Mo.
At 2:30 p.m. April 5th Grandmother Wirz breathed her last. She had been suffering a number of years from heart trouble and Bright’s disease. Almost an invalid for years she bore the affiliation with patience until the Father would see fit to call her home. A number for friends and relatives followed the remains to the last resting place. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bracher of Wichita Falls, at the cemetery, April 6th at 3:30 p.m.
