Both Manning and Hutchins agree in stating that his first wife was Agnes, daughter of Guy Paulet, and she, according to them and to a writer in the Topographer and Genealogist,2 was the mother of Reginald, Thomas, and Sir William, his heir. Reginald is mentioned in the will of his great-uncle William Uvedale in 1449, and died in the lifetime of his father, as appears by the inquisition above cited.
