BIOGRAPHY Alain III, seigneur de la Motte-du-Parc, was the son of Alain II, seigneur de la Motte-du-Parc, and Agnès de Coëtmen. He was mentioned as one of the executors in 1306 of the will of Jean II, duc de Bretagne, 'a relation'. Duke Jean was killed in 1305 when a wall crumbled and collapsed on top of him during the celebrations surrounding the coronation of Pope Clement V in Lyons.

With his wife Judith de Beaumanoir, Alain had three sons, Alain, Guillaume and Thomas, who all had progeny.
