One of the four original three brothers would remain of the prestigious "Champion Brothers of South Texas" who immigrated to America from Italy. They first landed in New Orleans; La owned a Merchant Marine Business in that area. Then they were approached in 1846 as The Mexican Ameican War was breaking out by the US government about Port Isabel, not yet a part of the Republic of Texas, during that era known as El Fronton de Santa Isabel. They began to supply ammunition and be responsible for shipments coming in and out of the very important area of the country. After the war, they ran a marine and shipping and receiving business.
