About Albert Jefferson Neely
Albert was a Confederate Soldier, serving with Company D, 6th Cavalry, 65th NC State Troops. Captured by Union soldiers at Kinston, NC, on 17 March 1865. Released 15 June 1865, the date on which he took and Oath of Allegiance to the United States. Information on the document: Resident of Hendersonville, NC; light complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, 5 ft. 8 in. tall.
He married Eleanor Apantha Edney 1850-1917, daughter of Samuel Rufus Edney and Alphalby Maxwell.
