Brief overview:

Alberta (74), from the Netherlands, was staying with friends in Marloth Park, a Safari Park in Mpumalanga, when between four and five armed men invaded the home. All four of the occupants were tied up and gagged. Alberta and her Belgian friend, businessman Koenraad Collier (53), from Belgium, both died from suffocation. The house owner and the other victim survived.

According to police spokesman Brig Leonard Hlathi, initially at least two men approached the property asking for work, to which the family said there was none at the moment that they could offer. "Suddenly more men appeared, with one of them wielding a firearm,” Hlathi said. The perpetrators tied up and gagged the four victims and stripped the property of valuables. When they left, the two survivors managed to free themselves and alert authorities through a panic button in the home. Police have launched an investigation.
