After two years of preparation, he studied in 1842-44. in the 2nd gymnasium and entered
Anenkov school in 1845 in St. Petersburg. In 1848 entered the same place

service in the regiment "Prince Ferdinand of the Netherlands" as a battalion
doctor From May 10, he was during the assault on Gangut by the Anglo-French fleet, bravely
recaptured by our troops on the southern coast of Finland. Transferred in June

his studies abroad, where he visited clinics in Berlin, Prague and Vienna, studying
women's diseases. In March 1862 he returned to the Kalinkin hospital and became
full-time obstetrician. To improve his wife's health, doctors recommended that
milder climate of Odessa. In connection with the move, he had to have a private
practice. In June 1869 he became a senior doctor at the city hospital in Odessa.
In February 1870 he was sent abroad to study sick leave

После двухлетней подготовки он учился в 1842-44гг. во 2-й гимназии и поступил в Аненковскую школу в 1845г. в Санкт-Петербурге. В 1848г. поступил там же в медико-хирургическую Академию. Получив диплом с 31.03.1854, поступил на службу в полк «Принца Фердинанда Нидерландского» в должности батальонного врача. С 10 мая был при штурме Гангута англо-французским флотом, храбро отбитым нашими войсками на южном побережье Финляндии. В июне переведён младшим лекарем в лейб-гвардии уланский полк, стоящий в Петергофе и прикомандирован к Петергофскому военному госпиталю. С 04.09.1854 по декабрь 1855г. находился с полком в Гродненской губернии, с 01.03.1856 переведён в образцовый кавалерийский полк в Павловск. В декабре 1856 уволился и поступил ординатором Измайловского госпиталя в Санкт-Петербурге и работал там до перевода в апреле 1857 в Петергофское дворцовое правление и в 1858г. – как сверхштатный ординатор в Калинкинскую больницу в Санкт-Петербурге. Особенно он посвятил себя акушерству, для чего в 1860-62гг. был отправлен для его изучения за границу, где посетил клиники в Берлине, Праге и Вене, изучая женские болезни. В марте 1862 он вернулся в Калинкинскую больницу и стал штатным акушером. Для улучшения здоровья его жены врачи ей рекомендовали более мягкий климат Одессы. В связи с переездом он должен был иметь частную практику. В июне1869г. он стал старшим врачом в городской больнице в Одессе
В феврале 1870 г. он был командирован за границу для изучения больничного дела, т.к. в Одессе предполагалась постройка новой больницы. Как ДСС с титулом «Превосходительства» он также был награждён орденом Святослава на шее. Благодаря своим хорошим доходам от жалования и частной практики он смог купить поместье в Порховском уезде Псковской губернии (село Городок) для своей жены. Что касается его характера, то он с добрейшим сердцем и глубокой привязанностью относился к родным и соединял всё это со всегда невозмутимой весёлостью. Кроме того, он славился своим метким, хотя ни для кого не обидным остроумием.
