Georg Wilhelm von Avenarius

Georgy Alexandrovich Avenarius was born on July 11, 1835 in Peterhof. Since childhood, he had a passion for military service in the Guards cavalry, but he had a tortuous path to it. Apparently, his parents were not attracted by his son's desire to become a military man and he first studied at several educational institutions, including the 5th St. Petersburg Gymnasium and the Academy of Arts, until he "managed to convince his father to send him to military service, and here on April 6-

At the request of his father, in February 1862, Georgy Alexandrovich was transferred as a cornet to His Majesty's Life Guards Uhlan Regiment, then quartered in the Novgorod province. In the spring of 1863, the regiment was sent to Poland to suppress the uprising, after which it remained quartered there. Cornet G.A. Avenarius also participated in the battles with the Polish rebels, for which he was awarded the Order of St. Anna of the 4th degree. Advancing through the service, Georgy Alexandrovich received not only the rank of colonel, but also the Order of St. Stanislaus, 3rd degree, St. Anna of the 3rd degree, St. Stanislaus of the 2nd degree and others.

After serving in Warsaw in 1871, he transferred to the reserve squadron of his regiment, then stationed in Pavlovsk. In the same year, Georgy Alexandrovich married Sophia Leontievna Wilhelm.The second marriage Natalia Georgievna Kilshtet in 1873 married her widowed uncle, Major General George Alexandrovich Avenarius. Георгий Александрович Авенариус родился 11 июля 1835 года в Петергофе. С детских лет у него была страсть к военной службе в гвардейской кавалерии, но путь к ней у него был извилистый. Видимо родителей не прельщало стремление сына стать военным и он сначала проучился в нескольких учебных заведениях, включая 5-ю Петербургскую гимназию и Академию художеств, пока ему "удалось убедить отца отдать его в военную службу, и вот 6 апре-

ля 1854 года вступает он юнкером в 5-й батальон Австрийского полка... ". По ходатайству отца в феврале 1862 года Георгий Александрович был переведен корнетом в Лейб-гвардии Его Величества Уланский полк, квартировавший тогда в Новгородской губернии. Весной 1863 года полк был направлен в Польшу на подавление восстания, после чего и остался там квартировать. В боях с польскими мятежниками участвовал и корнет Г.А. Авенариус, за что был награжден орденом Св. Анны 4-й степени. Продвигаясь по службе, Георгий Александрович получил не только чин полковника, но и ордена Св. Станислава 3-й степени, Св. Анны 3-й степени, Св. Станислава 2-й степени и другие.

После службы в Варшаве в 1871 году он перевелся в резервный эскадрон своего полка, стоявший тогда в Павловске. В том же году Георгий Александрович женился на Софье Леонтьевне Вильгельм.Второй брак Наталья Георгиевна Кильштет в 1873 году вышла замуж за Её овдовевшего дядю,генерал-майора Георга Александровича Авенариуса.
