Alexander McCABE was born c1770

He was convicted (unknown crime) and sentenced to transportation for life. Alexander arrived in Sydney Cove on 7/8/1793 on "Boddingtons".

He married Catherine WALLACE in 12/8/1816 at Richmond and they had 6 children

Tried and convicted in County Louth in 1792, sentenced to transportation for life. Left Cork on 15th February 1793. Ship:- the ‘Boddingtons’ sailed with 125 male and 20 female convicts on board of which 1 male died during the voyage. Arrived on 7th August 1793.

In the Colony, Alexander found himself in front of a Magistrate on several occassions.

On 21st July 1798 he was before the Bench of Magistrates on suspicion of stealing wheat, no sentence found as yet. On 8th December 1798 he was charged with Neglect of duty and disobedience of orders. On 28th December 1799 Charged again with Neglecting work. In early 1811 he was sentenced to four years hard labour in the coal mines at Newcastle, arriving there in February of that year on the ‘Lady Nelson’. When free again Alexander was assigned his future wife Catherine Wallace, (convict, ‘Mary Anne I’ 1816), who he married on 12th August 1816 at Richmond, they had 6 children between 1816-1830.
