About Alexander Mckee of Ireland
Another researcher claims that the family is from Kircubbin, County Down, Ireland - but no documentation supports the claim.
this branch comes to America when Alexander and the family sails from Ireland to Liverpool and on to New York City. The family arrives in New York aboard the Republic on 12 July 1837.
Son Joseph is already in in Randolph County, Illinois when the bulk of the family lands at New York City on aboard the Ship "Republic." The ship landed at New York City on 12 Jul 1837.
Alexander McKee joins his sons Joseph and Alexander
Tthe remaining children:

- Robert remain in New York City for several years and by the late 1840s, these family members join the family members that went to Randolph County, Illinois
A daughter Agnes remained in Ireland - migrating to County Cheshire, England and after death of family members and 30 year later in 1867 brings a daughter and grand daughters with her and joins her father and siblings in Southern Illinois.
The memoir of Dr. J. B. Gordon, Early History of the Flack School District Randolph County Illinois mentions Alexander Mckee and several other family members; a copy can be found in the Chester Public Library in Chester, IL or the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield, IL.
