Alfred Oliver Henson was the son of Jesse R Henson 1797 – 1865 and 2nd wife, Eleanor Ellen). Oliver's known siblings were: Margaret Henson 1843 – 1923; Samuel Henson 1845 – 1880; Gilbert Henson 1847 – 1863; John Henson 1850 – 1869; Eugenia (Lou Ginnie) HENSON 1851 – 1916 and William I. Henson 1855 -. His step-family from the children of Jesse and his first wife, Sarah Sperling are: Polly 1928 -, Elizabeth 1829 -, Richard 1931 -, Eli 1935 -, Martha 1837 -,Paul 1838-.

About 1873, in the state of Arkansas, Alfred chose Margaret Hesteranne Fain to be his bride. They became parents of seven known children: Martha Jane Henson 1872 – 1910; John Christopher Columbus Henson 1874 – 1949; Mattie Susan HENSON 1877; James Walter Henson 1879 – 1942; Maggie Jo Henson 1884 – 1957; George William Henson 1888 – 1912 and Jess Orval Henson 1893 – 1971.

The 1880 census found Alfred working on a farm in Lees Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, and Margaret had presented him with 4 children.

On June 23, 1884, Margaret presented Alfred with a baby girl that they called Maggie. On Jan. 26 1888, a son was born that they named George. and on May 16, 1893 their last child Jesse came into the world.

Mar. 26, 1906 was a heart breaking day for Alfred and his family and friends, his dear Margaret Hesteranne "Hester" Fain Henson passed away. A plot was chosen for her in the Mount Nebo Cemetery McIntosh County Oklahoma. On July 30, 1908, was a sad day for Alfred Oliver Henson's family and friends. Alfred had passed away.
