Obituary:
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Atoka Pentecostal Holiness Church for John C. Henson, 74 - year old retired farmer following his death Monday at his in East Atoka.
Henson came to Oklahoma Territory in 1890 and was an early day peace officer in Okemah. He later engaged in oil field contracting in the Wetumka fields and had extensive farm holdings in central Oklahoma. He moved to Atoka in 1934 from Ada.
Henson had been ill for several months preceding his death.
He was a member of the Atoka Pentecostal Church of Christ and acted as congregation secretary from organization of the local group.
Rev. John Bagley, pastor of the Atoka Pentecostal Church of Christ conducted funeral services. Interment was in Atoka "Westview" Cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. B. G. Burnett and Mrs. A. H. Laughlin, both of Denison, TX; Mrs. J. M. Brady, Mrs. J. L. Strickland, and Mrs. Casto Pierce, all of Atoka; a son, Frank Henson, of Atoka; 14 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Pall bearers were J. M. Weeks, Woodrow Ainsworth, John Ford, Luther Ford, Lige Childers, and Rev. Ern.
