Biography

Alice was baptised on 15 Jun 1616 at Cranfield, Bedfordshire, the daughter of Thomas Wheeler "of Warley".<ref>The Parish Register of Cranfield 1600-1812. Bedfordshire County Record Office 1943. https://archive.org/details/bedfordshirepari27bedf/page/3/mode/1up</ref>
She married John Billington on 16 Oct 1634 at Cranfield.<ref>The Parish Register of Cranfield 1600-1812.https://archive.org/details/bedfordshirepari27bedf/page/n48/mode/1up</ref> and they baptised a daughter Mary on 14 Feb 1635/6, who was buried at Cranfield on 15 Apr 1636, She was buried on 15 Dec 1636 at Cranfield.<ref>The Parish Register of Cranfield 1600-1812. https://archive.org/details/bedfordshirepari27bedf/page/64/mode/1up</ref> After her death her husband remarried to Mary Bright on 2 Jun 1637.

Research Notes

On 19 Apr 1636 a Mary Billington was buried at Cranfield. But on 15 Dec 1636 at Cranfield Alice Billington was buried.<ref>"The Parish Register of Cranfield 1600-1812". https://archive.org/details/bedfordshirepari27bedf/page/3</ref>
I think the burial of Mary Billington on 19 Apr 1636 is a red herring and it was Alice Wheeler Billington, buried on 15 Dec that same year, who was the wife of John, which still works for John Billington to have remarried in 1637. There must have been two Alice Wheelers who were daughters of Thomas Wheeler. The New England Historical & Genealogical Register [https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/2129/32608_234066-00280?pid=17...] has Alice's birth 17 Jan 1640 in Boston and the Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988 [https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?dbid=2495&h=44579858&in...][https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/2495/40400_274679-00267?pid=44...]has death as 17 Mar 1640 in boston. So I am thinking that this Alicewas not the one that died in 1640. I am removing the death date leaving it open until more sources can be found. Nancyann(when saving this it gives a birthdate error being too close to Wheeler-569. I changed the birth year to match image attached here and it shows too close the other side.)
