Another part of the Lizzie King/Mankelow story is that Lizzie's youngest sister Alice King was unmarried and pregnant at age 17. Like other unwed mothers of the time, she was shunned by most of the family, but Lizzie took her in and supported her when she had nowhere to go. Alice's baby, Leslie Vine King (Vine was his biological father's surname, although Les never knew his biological father) was born in January 1892 and 5 years later Alice King married William Hall.
