Alice Nolt Hoover, 77, of Mensch Road, Miff- linburg R1,formerly of West Earl Township, died Thursday morning at home after a one-year illness.

Mrs.Hoover was a member of Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, Millmont R2.

She moved to Union County in 1968 from West Earl Township,where she lived for many years.

She attended West Terre Hill School. Born in East Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Ada Burkholder Nolt Hoover.

Her husband, Amos Nolt Hoover, died in 1998.

Surviving are six sons, Joseph H., married to Margaret W. Hoover, Allen H., married to Mary M. Hoover, John H., married to Verna L. Hoover, Amos H. Jr., married to Elizabeth M. Hoover, all of Mifflinburg R1,Raymond H.,married to Rachael H.Hoover of Dundee,N.Y.,and Lewis H., married to Brenda A.Hoover of Millmont R1; and 10 daughters, Ada H.,married to Jonathan H.Martin of New Holland, Nora H., married to Eli M. Martin, Edna H., married to Raymond N. Weaver, and Lucy H., married to Edward H. Martin, all of Millmont R2, Verna H., married to Carl L. Duke of Mifflinburg R4, Anna H., married to Phares Z. Horning of Mifflinburg R1, Alice H., married to Wesley E. King of Belleville, Minnie H., married to Steve A.Peachey of Reedsville, Etta H., married to Joseph M. Hoover of New Holland R1; and six sisters, Lydia N., married to Amos W. Hoover, Fannie M. Hoover, Elizabeth M. Hoover and Eva M. Hoover, all of New Holland R1, Esther N., married to Aaron N. Hoover of Leola, and Emma N., married to Isaac M. Burkholder of Kutztown.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a sister Lena N. Reiff and a brother, Eli M. Hoover.
