Lydia N. Hoover, 78, of 686 Reidenbach Road, New Holland, died at home Saturday after a brief illness.

A homemaker, she was a member of Reidenbach Mennonite Church.

Born in East Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late John N. and Ada Nolt Hoover.

She was married to Amos W. Hoover.

Surviving besides her husband are seven daughters, Alma, married to Henry Hoover, and Martha, married to David Hoover, both of Hopkinsville, Ky., Ada, married to Levi Reiff, and Lydia, married to David Hoover, both of New Holland,Emma,married to Luke Martin of Ephrata, Mary, married to Paul Hoover of East Earl, and Linda Hoover at home; 10 sons, Isaac H., Leon H., Lloyd H., Lester H., and Jonas H., all of New Holland, James H. of Epharta, Daniel H. of Hopkinsville, Amos H. of East Earl and John H. and Paul H., both of Stevens; 109 grand- children; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Esther, married to Aaron Hoover of Leola; two brothers, Walter Hoover of Narvon and Isaac Hoover of Versailles, Mo.; three half sisters, Fannie, Elizabeth and Eva Hoover, all of New Holland RD;and two half brothers,Ivan Hoover of Shippensburg and Henry Hoover of New Holland RD.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Alice Hoover, Lena Reiff and Emma Burkholder; and three brothers: Paul, John and Eli Hoover
