About Alice Whipple
Alice Sprague is a descendant of pilgrim Richard Warren, Colonial Gov. Jencks of Rhode Island, Rev Chad Brown, for whom Brown University is named, and Rev. Holmes, a founder of the Baptist Church in America.
This information comes from the "Mayflower Web" page on the Internet. It is confirmed by information found in the "Geneology of the Whipple, Paddock & Bull Families in American, 1620-1970" by Ruth Kapphahn & James Grafton Carter. The information from the book was provided to me by Jean Carter, wife of James Grafton Carter, so that I could include the information in this family history.

Alec (Alice) Sprague resided in NY.(735) "Sprague Families in America", by W. V. Sprague, page 171. Alec/Alice Sprague Whipple and Reuben Whipple settled in NY.
Located just east of the hamlet of Amboy Center, on the south side of NYS Rt. 69, in the Town of Amboy, Oswego, Co., the cemetery where Reuben & Alice Sprauge Whipple & their son Reuben & wife Deborah Mapes Whipple are buried shows signs of "Bicentennial" cleaning; some areas have been filled in recently with native red soil. Only a thin weed cover, not much thick grass. Many footstones have been moved and are leaning against headstones. There are flags on the graves of veterans - some metal markers are still in place. Latest grave is 1968.
Surveyed 18 September 1979 - H.S., H.S. & Y.C.S. The initials appear to be the people that enumerated the cemetery in 1979.

I am not certain that the child Daniel attached here as a son of Reuben and Alice Sprague Whipple was theirs. There would be a gap of 15 yrs between the last known child b 1811 and this Daniel b 1826.
