About Allan Shillinglaw
Allan Shillinglaw
was born in Skateraw, Scotland , grew up in near Grahamestown South Africa and came to his great-grandfather's farm in Iowa along with his dad, William and his sister Mary Jane in 1892. He was married to his uncle's wife's sister,[] Ada Hoyt in 1899 and in 1904 went to search for a new homestead in the Canadian North West. He was an early homesteader in 1905 at Forestburg, Alberta, where he died in 1936.
