A. Wanda Carns, 81, Ligonier, died early Monday morning, Sept. 4, 2006, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late William and Alma Page Shrader. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Fort Ligonier Chapter #349 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Juanita McElroy (and her husband, Michael), of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, James A. (and his wife, Susan) Carns, of Ligonier, Glenn P. Carns, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Ralph E. (and his fiancee, Janet Trimble) Carns, of Latrobe; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, G. Edgar Carns, in 2005; and a brother, William Shrader Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where a celebration of Wanda's life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Robert D. Cummings officiating. The Fort Ligonier Chapter #349 O.E.S. will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Wanda's memory to the Bethlen Home Activity Fund, 66 Carey School Road, Ligonier, PA 15658.
