About Alvin H. Hickey
Info from Veda Ferdinand: Grandaughter of WIlliam Thomas Hickey July 23, 1978 John Noel and Daisy Texas Bullard Hickey Leaving Dover, AR and Coming to Ontario, OR
John Noel Hickey came out West with his Uncle George (a bachelor) to Juntura, OR. He stayed there a while on his Uncle George's ranch.
He then went back to Arkansas to wed Daisy (known as Dessie) on September 6, 1907. Five and a half years later, John moved his family out West. They stayed with Uncle George for a year, and then moved to Ontario where they stayed with Uncle Bud for a year. He then moved his family to what was known as the Rielly Horn Place. They lived there for 18 years.
He then bought the Zittercob Place, 4 miles from Nyssa, ORegon. He and Dessie stayed there until they became ill in 1954. Their girls, Hasel and Thelma, who taught school in Elgin, Oregon, moved them to an apartment in Elgin to have them close by when they needed help.
Dessie died on December 23, 1856 and John died 5 month later on May 22, 1957
