Amanda Malvina Baldwin was a descendant of Baldwins who were officers in the New Hampshire Revolutionary Army. Captain Isaac Baldwin died at Bunker Hill.
In a birthday poem for Tom Shirley's 4th birthday poem, Moses Gage Shirley wrote,
"I've got a GrandMa, short and fat, she likes to plague me too,
She calls 'my boy' Jehosaphat, and then I'm mad way through!
For 'my boy', he has no name, he lives out in the dark,
He never went as GrandMa says to live in the old Ark1"
Amanda Malvina Baldwin, 5th child of Deacon Nahum Baldwin and Mary Ann Barnard, was b. in Nashua on June 3, 1836; m. with Colonel E.C. SHIRLEY. (Edward Carlton Shirley). She died May 6, 1914 in Malden, Massachusetts at the home of her daughter.

Amanda Malvina Baldwin Shirley, was the daughter of Nahum and Mary Barnard Baldwin of Nashua NH. She was the wife of Edward Carlton Shirley and mother of Mary Vicksburg Shirley and Robert Lawrence Shirley.
