About Amos Richardson
Amos was born in St. Tammany's Parish, Louisiana, and after his mother, Nancy Albritton died, his father took the family to Simpson County, Mississippi, where his older brother, John Jr., remained with his father. Both appear on the 1830 Simpson County census miles away from his father.
The 1840 census for Lawrence County, Mississippi shows Amos and Anna with three children. From the abstracts of the minutes of Hebron Baptist church where the Albrittons, Peters, Rentz and Richardsons were members as early as January 1845 in Louisiana, show Amos and Anna have moved to Louisiana and joined this church on 26 July 1845. On 26 July 1850 Amos and Anna are dismissed from the Church, after the death of Amos' father in Jasper County, Texas in March 1850.
Amos, Annie and their children move to Tyler County, Texas where they bought land from William Seamans in Tyler County on 28 February 1851 for $220.00. The deed is recorded in Book B page 340 Deed Index book, Tyler County, Texas.
Amos served the CSA with the Mt. Hope Home Guard in Tyler County, Texas for the duration of the war as a 4th Corporal.
