The image is from the 1876 Adair County Plat Book. Amos married Sarah "Sallie F. Ivie on January, 1868, in Adair County, Missouri. Following is his obituary from Find A Grave.com:

A.L. WOODS.— Born in Indiana September 27, 1883; died in Kirksville, December 19, 1883. For over twenty-five years he was a citizen of Kirksville. He was prominently identified with the social, religious and political activities of the town and county. He dropped dead in the post office while talking to an acquaintance. His widow, who was Miss Ivie, still lives in Kirksville. History of Adair County, By Eugene Morrow Violette

LAST SAD RITES

The funeral and burial services of A.L. Woods took place on Sunday afternoon. The funeral took place from the C.P. Church. of which he was a member. The pastor Dr. J.B. Mitchell, delivered the funeral sermon, and conducted the religious ceremonies of the occasion in the presence of a large and crowded audience. The remains were escorted to the Cemetery by Kirksville Lodge, No. 105. A.F. & A.M. of which the deceased had been a worthy and respected member. Notwithstanding the snow and unpropitious state of the weather the procession was followed by a long line of citizens, of both sexes, in carriages and on foot. Arriving at the grave the body was lowered to its last resting place, and consigned to that heritage of all--the grave--with the beautiful and emblematic ceremonies of the Masonic ritual. The following is a record of the proceedings of the Lodge:

IN MEMORIAM.

The death of a good man is always a public misfortune. The broken ties that bound him to family to friends and to the business world, is with difficulty united; and the place he occupied in the hearts affection, often left void forever.

Our late Brother Amos L. Woods, who so suddenly expired on the 19th of December 1883, at Kirksville Missouri, while still in the prime of manhood, and while still in the very act of the discharge of those business duties for which he was justly eminent, deserves some tribute to his memory, to his mental social and moral worth.

For near a quarter of a century he has been identified with this lodge that now mourns his loss, and for almost a quarter of a century been an active and useful citizen in the community so shocked over his sudden and unexpected death. Having filled with perfect fidelity, and signal ability, all the offices in the gift of Kirksville Lodge No. 105, it is proper we pay some small tribute to a memory that we shall all love to cherish. Therefore:

RESOLVED. That the death of Brother Amos. L. Woods, so long a member of our organization, is an event to be deplored by us all as a bereavement of no ordinary character.

Wise and conservative in counsel, skilfull in labor learned in the craft, courteous with association, patient in all things, and overbearing in none, we shall miss and mourn him as a bright and distinguished member of our order.

Resolved - We commend his courtesy, his patience, his modesty, his charity and his benevolence, to all worthy Brothers and fellows as an example worthy to be followed.

Resolved that we unite with his esteemed companion in her sorrow, and from our heart of hearts, tender her our profound sympathy in her crushing affliction and unutterable grief.

Resolved, that a page in our records be dedicated to his memory and be appropriately inscribed with his name, age and offices held in our Lodge and that the Secretary is hereby instructed to furnish a copy of these resolutions under seal of the Lodge, to the widow of our deceased brother and to county papers for publication.

Resolved, that Kirksville lodge be draped in mourning and that members wear the usual badge of mourning.
