AMUND & KAREN LIEN (Greenbush) - Amund G. LIEN homesteaded in 1895 at the age of 32. The G. in his name stands for Gudbrandsen. His father's name was Gudbrand. He married Karen LIESHAGE at Hillsboro, ND. She also came fra Norway.
Their sons and daughters were: Murle Lien - never married Hazel Lien married CARLSON and have two children: Elwood and Marla. Gilman Lien - never married, deceased Gladys Lien - never married Ada Lien married Elester EIDE and have two children: Edward and Marcia Andrew Lien - never married

Amund was a Lutheran and a member of Bethania Free Lutheran Church ( now called United). Amund spent the winters in Portland, ND working as a janitor at the Bruflat Academy there. His sister Lena lived there. Lena was married to Carl HAUGOM, who owned a hardware store. Lena had some household help and that is how he met his wife to be. Karen had accompanied her sister, Hilda with 2-yr old daughter, coming fra Norway to join her husband: Christian NORDBY, who had immigrated earlier.
