Amy was a Regency courtesan and demi-mondaine hostess, who mixed with the beau monde in her opera box, entertaining aristocrats and dandies afterwards at her supper parties. According to her sister, Harriette Wilson's Memoirs, she bore a son by George Campbell, Marquis of Lorne, 6th Duke of Argyll. Amy later married the successful but infamous court musician, Nicholas Bochsa, who ultimately deserted her for another woman, eloping with his mistress to Australia, where he died.
