“John Stratton married Alice Pigott at Great Barford, Bedfordshire on 1 Jul 1577.[1]. Other than the names being the same, there's no evidence linking the Gt Barford marriage to the Strattons in Podington, 18 miles away. The Gt Barford couple appear to have baptised two children in Gt Barford; Thomas on 1 Sep 1577 and Amy on 17 May 1579, although parents' names aren't shown.[2] (Gt Barford baptism register is missing 1583-91). BUT these are the only Stratton entries in Gt Barford, which makes it quite possible/likely even, that they moved to Podington after 1579. Unfortunately Podington records don't start until 1602. ”
