After the death of her husband (860-875), wrongly accused of having molested the Empress, she travelled to Rome and here obtained the absolution of the Pope. Emperor Louis II, who had ordered Hucpold executed, atoned his wrong and conceded to his son Hucbald many beneficii, including the county of Modena and "8 others".
