Obit: (1894) From the Blair County Gen Web site in 2002:
Died at his home, 1205 Seventeenth Street at 2:50 yesterday afternoon, of congestive chills after an illness of twenty days, aged 27 years. Deceased was a son of George W. (deceased) and Jane A. Crawford, and was born in Gaysport. Coming to Altoona, he entered the company"s employ under Foreman McLahn(?) in the wheel foundry, and at the time of his death he held the position of regular helper and extra wheel monitor. He was a young man much esteemed by all who knew him. Surviving him are his sorrowing mother and the following brothers and sisters, all residents of this city: Select Councilman Theodore Crawford, Mrs. Mary A. Craig, Mrs. Annie Morgan, William F., George C. and Frank Crawford. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church and also of the following organizations: Young Men's Institute # 132 of Altoona, and he was the first member to die since its organization, the Altoona Yardmen's Association, the Pennsylvania Railroad Voluntary Relief Fund, the Friendship Fire Company, the Altoona Turnveren and the Blair County Pet, Poltry and Stock Fanciers Association. The funeral will take place at 8:30 o'clock on Thursday morning; service at St. John;s Catholic church at 9:00; interment in St. John's Cemetary.
