Andrew Shiells in Pollockshiells is described as the father of Janet Shiellls in a sasine, made in his daughter's favour, which belongs to the period 1729-45. This deed has not been consulted but it seems likely to be confirmation of a liferent annuity granted to her by her husband, John Jamieson, son of John Jamieson, portioner of Bogtoun [National Archives of Scotland, Particular Register of Sasines for the Sheriffdom of Lanark, reference RS42/14/102]

Marriage

Andrew Shiells in Pollockschiells married Elizabeth Bogle. A marriage record has not been identified but it seems quite likely, probable even, that Andrew's wife is the Bogle lady without a christian name, a parishoner of Monkland parish, to whom he was married on 30 December 1695.
