JANET SHEILLS (aka JOANET SHIELLS or JANNET SHIELDS)
Janet Sheills is the daughter of Andrew Sheills and Elizzabeth Bogle. She was born before 17 June 1707, the date upon which her baptism was registered at Govan in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Her baptismal record reads as follows: "1707 17 of June was baptized: 17th Joanet daugr lawll to Andrew Shiells: and Elizabeth Boggle" [National Records of Scotland, Govan Baptismal Records, 1690-1756, reference 646/1 page 54]
In a sasine made in her favour, which was registered during the period 1729-45, Janet Shiells is identified as the daughter of Andrew Shields in Pollochshiells, and the spouse to John Jamieson, son of John Jamieson, portioner of Bogtoun [National Archives of Scotland, Particular Register of Sasines for the Sheriffdom of Lanark, reference RS42/14/102]

Janet Sheills married John Jamieson of Bogton. The request for marriage proclamation was booked on 3 July 1730, at East Kilbride in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
