When Angelique Charette Petit was born about 1805, in Northwest Territories, Canada, her father, Weesh-e-damo Little Shell II Tacgitcit Split Rump Aisaince III Thomas Petit dit Thomas, was 12 and her mother, Susanne Marguerite dit Lionais Petit (Daunis), was 7. She married Jean Baptiste Paul on 29 February 1832, in Saint Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 6 daughters. She died in 1866, in Spirit Lake, Dickinson, Iowa, United States, at the age of 62.

Angelique Petit was the daughter of Thomas Petit "Little Shell II Way-ke-ge-ke-shig" and Marguerite Danis/Daunais. Sister of The Great Pembina Chippewa Nation Grand Chief Ayabe-Way-We-Tung Thomas (Peter Cochelle) Wenis, Long Voice, Egec, Little Shell III and Chief Ochechakonsh Little Crane. Angelique was baptized at St. Boniface, Manitoba on 10-March-1833, at the age of thirteen years. Angelique Petit married Jean Baptiste Charette (1804-1894)at St. Norbert, Manitoba about 1839.Her father Thomas Petit dit Thomas, was born at St Michel, D'Yamaska, Quebec, Canada. He came to the Northwest to work for the Hudson's Bay Company in 1816. He had the following "Country wives"
Marguerite Danis, Marie Beaulieu, Josephte Ouelette, and a marriage in 1825 to Genevieve Cadotte. In 1833 Marguerite Danis married Louis Lamirande at Saint Boniface, Manitoba. This couple had many children. On their marriage record, Marguerite's father Jean Baptiste Danis, was listed as deceased. Thomas Petit retired from the Hudson's Bay Company in 1835. According to his daughter Marie's marriage record at Pembina, Thomas Petit was deceased by 1868. Marguerite Danis-Lamirande died at St. Norbert, Manitoba on 9-May-1873.
