Hi.

As newcomer to list, I'll give brief recitation of my Rileys.

Actually, these are my wife's Rileys; I'm Polish/Ger :-)

According to tombstone inscriptions for 2 of children listed in 1st family, James & John, they were born in Co Westmeath, Ire. Spelling of surname Riley has been standardized; usual variations Riely, Reilly, etc. have all been encountered. Here goes:

They had no issue.

Co Sligo, Ire. He d 10 Aug 1913 in Chicago, Cook, IL. She d 18 Sep 1925 in Chicago, Cook, IL.

1.6.9 Patrick Henry b 7 Nov 1859 Rosecrans, Lake, IL.

1.6.10 Margaret b 15 Mar 1861 Rosecrans, Lake, IL. m 18 May 1892 Daniel Eustace in Chicago, Cook, IL.

1.7 Patrick, b 1824 Ire.

According to biography of James Riley, family emigrated

from Ire c1836, settling 1st in NY City. In 1844, they

travelled up Hudson Riv to Albany, then via Erie Canal to Lake Ontario where they took passage on ship. Arriving in northern WI, they came by wagon to Kenosha. BTW, it may be obvious that my wife's line descends thru Catherine Rafferty, dtr of Catherine Riley & Patrick Rafferty, because I've got Tom O'Grady's birthplace nailed down. Just one of my goals, apart from expanding my research on Rileys, is to locate current mbrs of family still living in Ire. My wife & I have found O'Gradys descended from common ancestor & correspondence
