About Ann L. Berube
Anne L. Berube was a 5-year-old victim of the Hartford Circus Fire, which broke out on July 6, 1944 and killed at least 167 people.
Anne was the only daughter of Albert and Esther (Gosselin) Berube. The family, including infant brother Albert, lived at 23 Church Street in Plainville, Connecticut.
Anne attended the circus with her mother and four members of the Murphy family of Plainville. Only Anne's mother Esther and five-year-old Patricia Murphy survived, both badly injured.
Anne was found deceased on the circus grounds on July 6. She was buried on July 10, which would have been her sixth birthday.
