About Ann Bolton
Ann Murdock Bolton
Ann Murdock was born in Ontario, Canada on February 4, 1832. She was the daughter of Isabella Mitchell and William Murdock. In 1834, Ann and her family moved to Ecorse Township.
I’m 1853, Ann married William Bolton. By 1870, William, Ann and their children Jennie (16), William (14), Ida (12), Alice (10), Minnie (8), Mina (6), Anna (4), and Corrie (1) were living in a boarding house.
By 1880, the Bolton family purchased a home on Front Street. On May2, 1909, Ann became ill with ascites (excess abdominal fluid). For many months she would deal with the illness. On March 22, 1910, Ann passed away at the age of 78. Ann left behind her husband, Captain William Bolton and four children: “W.J. Bolton of Detroit; Mrs. J.H. Nichols of Mendon; Mrs. F.E. Smith of Liaden, New York; and Miss Mae Bolton of this city….funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Dystant of the Methodist church.”
