Mrs. Ann Bonar died in her home in Osceola October 29th aged seventy four years four months and twenty days. She has been ailing last winter with a tumor of the neck which was very painful during many of the latter weeks. She was born in Knox Co, OH in 1814 and married David Bonar in 1835. They moved to Illinois in ____ and from there in 1853 came to Iowa and settle in Clarke County at first near Hopeville but in 1861 or 1862 moved to Osceola which has been their family home since. Mrs. Bonar, it will be seen, suffered with her husband the hardships of pioneer life but that never discouraged her or destroyed her cheerfulness of spirit. She was a woman of strong intent great resolution and ready sympathies. She was the mother of six children of whom two, James and Jennie, are dead and two sons T B and William, and two daughters, Mrs. Lou Nance and Miss Avarilla, are living. In 1851 she became a member of the Christian Church and her life was ever ________ with her profession. She was a faithful friend a good woman, much endeared in the community which gives its' earnest sympathy to the bereaved family. Her funeral occurred from her residence at 2 p.m. October 31st Reverend B F ______, Afton preaching the sermon, after which she was laid to rest in the cemetery.
